2014 Top 5 Event Trends - Have a Stylish Season!

The 2014 Wedding Season is underway and I'm here with an update of the top five trends for this year.  Many of these can apply to any event, not just weddings!

Think Pink!

Pink is back in a big way!  Think of shades like blush that soft and romantic.  I especially love them for the spring and late summer.

Metallic Accents
Metallic touches are super trendy this year.  I'm seeing lots of metallic on cakes and I'm loving it in centerpieces.  Forget mason jars and find some metallic bud vases or votive holders.  Mix pink and metallic and that's a match made in heaven!

Patterns anyone?

While chevron patterned linens, invites and other accents seem to be sticking around, floral patterns are making their mark this year.  Floral patterns and full skirt, short dresses can be very late 50's/early 60's and perfect for a spring wedding.  This time of year, who doesn't love floral.

Suspended Drama

This one is definitely for the deeper pockets, but suspended cakes and floral arrangements are all the rage!  Forget paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling....hanging flowers is where it's at this year.

Flavor!

Maybe there are way more foodies out there these days, but event food is at a whole new level.  Elegant plating, quality local ingredients and big bold flavors are most important.  Splurge on your food for any event.  Even wedding cakes have more exciting flavors now.  Check out the hyperlinks for 2 of my favorite vendors!

Wedding Season is Upon Us!

2014 Wedding Season is here, but planning doesn't have to be this bad!  I'm here to help!

On a serious note, my thoughts are with The Lakeview Pavilion, their owners, staff and all of the families planning events there.  LVP was a wonderful venue and extremely well-run.  I hope that the owners will open again.  If you know anyone that needs help rescheduling their wedding, please have them contact me.  I would be happy to help in any way I can.

Here's to a busy and successful 2014!

Happy Planning!

2014 Color of the Year!

Happy Holidays everyone!  I hope you're all having a wonderful season.  I have been busy wrapping up my wedding season and now onto planning holiday and birthday parties!  Sometimes I'm not sure what I love more.  But I do know that one of my FAVORITE days of the year is when Pantone announces their color of the year!  It is sure to be seen in the coming months all over fashion and events and I for one cannot wait!

For 2014 Pantone has revealed their color of the year to be.......drum roll please...........

Radiant Orchid is a beautiful color and I cannot wait to see it used in 2014!  And while at first it might look just like a spring or summer color, it has great range.

Rustic Romance when used with wild flowers at an outdoor wedding.

Tropical and Summery for these beautiful bridesmaids

Gold and Purple is a classic combination for a regal feel.  Perfect for a Fall Fete!

Pair Radiant Orchid with gray and you can take it either vintage or modern for a winter wonderland wedding!

Pantone has one again made an excellent choice and I can't wait to take advantage in 2014.

From my family to yours

See you in 2014!
